2.12.11 Inside the Christchurch Cathedral

2.12.11 Downtown Christchurch. Great to have a couple nights to regroup and get last minute items. These include tapestries to temper the harsh light in the dorm rooms, or fresh exotic fruits (no access to freshies after 1 month on station), and other assorted stuff, assuming they could fit in your baggage. For those coming from the northwest, yea, this place feels very comfortable. Great people, low key pace, and weather that reminds me of home.

11.2.11 Temporary retail site on Cashel Street. To bring people back to downtown (even though most continue to be condoned off), a couple blocks have been opened up comprised of stores and coffee shops built out of cargo containers (milvans/connexes). Rather ingenious, slick, and done quite nicely.
